Carlos had connections with the Doctor that let us film there. We were extremely lucky because we had the whole hospital to ourselves. Now lighting the scenes was the hard part since Carlos wanted day and night shots. I had to strip the M2 for some of the running and dolly scenes. Very hard since I am used to the M2 now. laugh.gif

Man i don't anyone who does filming here in Cruces who is not cocky, and arrogant. You guys seem so freakin awesome. i would love to hang out and film with you guys sometime.

by the way, i cherish your guy's input so very much could you take a look at this thread for me?...

http://www.epfilm.or...p?showtopic=866

anyways, your film looks absolutely amazing! Any advice on trying to shoot locally at our hospital here? i don't know any doctors....
The 48th Hour feature involves a hospital scene but we were thinking about taking it out of the script because it would be too hard to
get permission...thanks guys!

Ryan, if you'd like to film in a hospital, remember that clinics also have a similar look. If you can't get a hold of a hospital room, try the clinics. But, go ahead and ask, I bet there are doctors or administrators there who'd let you use any of there facilities where there are no patients.

Just tell them that you will not shoot any of the patients or any of the workers. Just say you need a room to film. I'd also mention that if they feel they need someone to look over the production in case anything happens. You may also need to print out some release forms so that no one gets sued. If you know what I mean.

I'm sure Carlos and Benny will help you out. And I'm sure that there's hospitals that will let you in. Just tell them how long you will be filming there, etc.

Hope that helps, Ryan. We need to collaborate on a short film. I like the way you film and set up your shots.

Oh yeah man for sure!
The director for the feature film of the 48th hour wants you to come down and audition when we hold them. I passed your acting reel over to him
and he liked it a lot a while back.

Your right. Small clinics would work. We wanted to do a nice hallway shot of the hospital though. But we'll find out our sources first and then decide to cut or keep that part of the script.

Thanks man!

Hey Ryan,

I'd like to help you out in any way I can. As far as filming in a hospital goes, your only possible choice may be at El Paso LTAC Hospital (formally Southwestern hospital). I know the Vice-President pretty well and he is a really cool guy. Leon Metz is the guy you want to talk to. I will PM you his email and phone number. Just tell him that Sandy and I referred you to him. You would have to come to El Paso to film here though since I don't know of any hospitals in Las Cruces that would fit your needs.

As of now, only the 1st & 3rd floor are open at this hospital. We did our filming on the 3rd floor and signed liability waivers. If you want to film in the unused areas of the hospital (which I think would look awesome for a zombie movie), you will need some kind of production insurance so that the hospital isn't held liable for anything.

The disadvantage of filmming on the 2nd or 4th floor is that there is no air conditioning but at least you don't have to worry about doctors and patients running around the hallways. happy.gif

That is some great great news!!! Did you have liability insurance? or did you just sign contracts and such? If possible it would be great to get you on set with us for at least that scene over in El Paso. Once I pass Sundland Park Mall I have no idea where i am at. It's like a labyrinth over in El Paso to me haha.

Na, we did not have liability insurance. We only signed waivers to make sure that the hospital would not get sued if something happened to us (it would be our own fault haha). Its been a long time since I was an actor in a movie but I still enjoy the craft. tongue.gif (I make a lot of cameos in HOG). I'm currently not in El Paso right now but I may come back soon for a project. I'll be sure to let you know when as soon as I get some details. wink.gif
