I am looking for a crew, people with equipment that are interested in shooting a full-length film noir. I know it's somewhat of a stretch to expect help since I have not given anything back, but I know there are many here that share the same enthusiasm but have more resources (and are kinder) than I. Any help, or anybody that needs help, reply or e-mail me at vasalas@utep.edu .... thanks! Gil if you need help with epfilm too, I need to connect myself to the scene here!

Thanks man. I've just waited patiently to have the right script, the right material from which to start, so as to not waste anybody's time. I've written a nice little 70 page script that I feel is in nice shooting order, written from an idea my supposed partner had; he complained I made it my own, he got a job at S-Fucking-Mart (those in Juarez know what that is) and now it seems I was abandoned with this. But he was right, I shaped that sucker into one of my own, a little kid I want to see grow up. I also know there's a bunch of people in here, including you, that are so fucking helpful and I start feeling like a leech asking for help like this. I stranded away from this forum, stopped watching 2-3 movies per night/day, stopped writing like a madman and my mind tries to blame it on the fact that I met a special lady, but that's bullshit; I know I can shoot the sky while I kiss the girl. Okay enough with the myspace rambling....

I need access to some basic equipment - a camera (pref. digital) and a couple of mics. I've always felt that getting the rest (lights, actors, etc.) is part of the fun of discovering a new way of doing things, so I'd do the legwork on that. But I suppose I also need a comrade, somebody to fight the war with; I don't have the advantage of having siblings to share the experience with (I have 'em, they're just doctors and businessmen), nor dependable friends that would want to do this pro bono. Thank you Novelt; even if I don't get any help, your message brightened my day and gave me a fuzzy warm feeling in my nether regions.

I had one shot to shoot my own stuff when I knew somebody at the comm. dept. at UTEP, and just the feeling I got from directing a short film was glorious. I was and I still am hooked. I tried to stop being interested in film making, but the itch won't go away. Feed my addiction friends.

while i can't offer any one else's help...i can venture and say dabadguy, enigmawriter, immortal, and others would be willing to lend a hand. mostly everyone here wants to keep busy and hone their crafts. just give us times and places. i'll be pretty much free in a couple of months - don't know your time frame though - but i'd be willing to do what i can.

I'd venture out to say that it would be nice to shoot during fall/winter, but really, rather then set my own proposed schedule, I would follow you guys' free time.
