Final Cut Studio 2. Everything you need and more. Adobe CS4 is okay. If you are a PC user, Adobe is the way to go. For Macs, go with FCS2.

I made the switch on over from a PC to a MAC about a year ago, personally the switch changed me ha! (no offense to PC users) but after the switch I've tried using PC's and they just irritate me.

But so yeah I've been running on a MAC and I've been using Final Cut Express, I'll admit it the very first time i opened it, it was very intimidating.
I can say i got about a year of experience under my belt with using it. Once learning it FCE gives you so many options and so many things you'll WOW your self out with.

I take it your looking on the market to upgrade, basically ask your self what kind of editing system do you want and need?
There are softwares out there that would be roughly for family homemade videos, then there are the more professional ones which allow you to do some amazing things.
Then again the better the more the price goes up, so its best to look around.

Other then FCE I've used IMovie, Vivid, and Pinnacle Studio. I used these softwares before FCE so i have to say my favorite is FCE

11 years with Avid Xpress and it's other Avid software programs. Final Cut Pro, all of them, Adobe Premiere all of them, Vegas, and the software that comes with the Macs and the PCs. I love editing, as you can see.

As a non-editor i have found Final Cut Studio easy to use and it comes with so much other stuff. Final Cut Pro, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, Color, Compressor and DVD Studio Pro. More info on Final Cut Studio 2.

FinalCut for sure. But if you can't get your hands on it go for the next most professional.

Yeah I vote Final Cut Pro too... Though I liked the Media 100 user interface, I didn't like its proprietary hardware and file formats... But like audio editing software, I say go with what you know... If you are comfortable editing with what you have now, you should stick with that... (that is unless you are gonna try to edit a feature length movie with windows movie maker or imovie, then maybe you should move up to something that can handle that much media)... ph34r.gif

Started off with Adobe Premiere back in 2002ish (god I miss the days of constant reboots and crashes... LOL) then went to Mac and Final Cut Studio in 2005. I would say I prefer Final Cut which is all I've used since then although the similarities make it easy to cross over... have been using Final Studio 2 and have no desire to change (well until I get Studio 3 of course)....
